Time Management – Delegate, Prioritize, Focus

Time management is of vital importance if you want productivity in any type of business. Many entrepreneurs make the grave mistake of thinking that they can manage time just like they manage staff members. Here is what they fail to realize, sometimes a little bit too late: you can tell a worker what to do and at what time to get it done, but you cannot tell time to wait on you to start or complete any task. There are some steps or actions that you must take to ensure productivity.ClockInGrass

1. Manage time spent on incoming calls
Get your gatekeepers involved in screening the calls that come to you. This way, if the person who answers the call can take care of the caller’s need, it would save you the time it would take to listen to the caller then delegating duty to someone else.

2. Avoid checking mails constantly
Just like you do for incoming calls, let someone else check your mails and pass on to you the ones that require your specific and immediate attention. Even then, you should ensure that responses are made according to priority. Use valuable time to successfully grow your business.

3. Create and manage your to-do list
You will see more personal and organizational productivity when you decide what goes on your to-do list, than try to manage time by prioritizing what is on that sometimes unorganized and unnecessary list. Delegate first, then make the list and stick with it. In this case, doing less is actually doing more.

4. Cut out meeting times
In the world of business, meetings are usually unnecessary and taxing. Productivity is decreased when people leave their assigned duties to meet face-to-face. However, if a meeting is scheduled and you have something to say, you can pre-record your comments or join the meeting via Skype if necessary. If you only want an update on the meeting details, you can assign someone to attend the meeting and jot down relevant information for you.

To have sustainable wealth and good physical and mental health, you have to stay focused and have a system that is designed to manage your time. Time management is effective delegating, staying focused and prioritizing.

Great Places to Visit in Miami, FL

With its fascinating assemblage of manmade and natural attractions as well as multicultural neighborhoods, Miami is a must-see destination for any discerning traveler. From historic and wildlife to thrill and museum attractions, there is truly something for everyone. I recently found out that it is easy to lose yourself in this amazing metropolis. Miami is home to pristine beaches, lush tropical parks and dazzling blue waters. Its manmade attractions include crayon-colored architecture, world-class museums and picturesque skylines. As an avid thrill seeker, I enjoyed a wide array of wet and wild attractions along the beaches.

I embarked on boat tours and trips to water parks, which helped quench my thirst for speed and also took me off the beaten path. At one point I jumped onto a power catamaran and rode the waves at thrilling speeds of 45 miles per hour. The adventure easily became the highlight of my trip to the Magic City. Some of the speed boat tours available to adventure seekers include escapades into the Atlantic Ocean and the Biscayne Bay. This provides a wonderful opportunity to view fabulous mansions of Fisher Island, Key Biscayne and Star Island. The upmarket areas are home to a number of celebrities. On the other hand, the Coral Castle adds character and uniqueness to the local landscape. The awe-inspiring 1100-ton coral structure was built by Ed Leedskalnin as a tribute to his fiance.

For a glimpse of natural beauty and wildlife, I took a trip to the Everglades National Park where I discovered an impressive variety of native species of plants and animals. The park is a fantastic place to enjoy numerous outdoor activities, including boating, camping, hiking, fishing and biking. The 1.5-million-acre park was established as means to protect the vulnerable ecosystems in the Lake Okeechobee watershed area. The southernmost part of the watershed features a network of wetlands that host countless species of animals and plants. The Miami Seaquarium is a fabulous stop that offers an outdoor aquarium experience. When it comes to museums, Miami provides access to an impressive selection, including the Children’s Museum and the Museum of Science.

What Makes A Cohiba So Special?

So what is it, specifically, that makes Cuban cigars so great?

First off, it is important to understand that the tobacco used in the finest cigars is widely grown throughout South America, namely Cuba, Brazil, Cameroon, the Dominican Republic and Honduras. Because of this, cigars are an important part of the culture for each of these countries.

The immensely popular Cohiba is a brand of two distinct, albeit premium, cigars–one produced in Cuba under the state-owned tobacco company, the other produced in the Dominican Republic for a United States owned company. Those produced in Cuba are widely accepted among cigar enthusiasts to be much better—more flavorful and smooth.

This is because the Cuban-produced brand is filled with tobacco that is grown in the country’s Vuelta Abajo area. It also undergoes an extra, time-consuming fermentation process in which it is placed in wooden barrels to age for an undetermined amount of time. (Think of it as a fine wine or beer that takes longer to produce than its counterparts). In fact, back in 1992 only ten painstakingly selected fields, which totaled about 690 acres, were used to grow the tobacco for the Cuban Cohiba. The field’s exact location was kept a secret.

The Cuban version of the Cohiba was first established back in 1966 as a private brand with a limited production run. It was exclusively supplied to former Cuban dictator Fidel Castro and his high-ranking government officials. The immensely popular Cohiba gradually developed a cult status, and was released for commercial consumption in 1982.

Cohiba’s flagship cigar—the Siglo VI—boasts some of the highest marks from blind reviews. It currently holds and impressive 90 percent from Blind Man’s Puff, a website dedicated to cigar reviews, and a 93 rating from Cigar Aficionado.

Blind Man’s Puff describes the experience of smoking a Cohiba as a mixture of spice, sweetness and earthiness: a solid, well balanced flavor, with a glimpse of coffee and chocolate notes.

Cohibas also carry a pretty hefty price tag, especially because Americans were largely barred from bringing them to the United Sates due to trade restrictions. A recent ease of travel restrictions by President Obama means that Americans will soon be able to purchase up to $100 of Cuban cigars on international travel.

Thoughts on Getting Things Done by David Allen

There is always so much to do, and never enough time in a day. It is so easy to feel overwhelmed, and to just say, “forget it” and give up. Then we end up with an entire list of things that aren’t done and life just piles up in front of us until everything simply becomes unbearable. There is now a great book out there to help people like us solve this dilemma called “Getting Things Done: The Art of Stress Free Productivity.”

This book has helped me do so many things in my most difficult moments, such as the ones I described previously! The first thing this book helped me do was prioritize, which is really challenging, and I couldn’t have done it without the help of the author, David Allen. However Allen is so good at what he does, he has even been recognized by Time magazine! My prioritizing began and I was able to figure things out. I then had to understand and learn that everything has a certain place and time, and not every place and time is appropriate to complete a task. This is not something you can just learn from me explaining this to you here. Purchasing Allen’s book about getting things done will assist you with making sure that you understand the appropriate time and place for accomplishing the important tasks that you need to complete.

What is most important about Allen’s book is that everything is described and explained and taught to be carried out in a relaxed way. Nothing seems stressful and overwhelming. While you will be getting things done, and I can promise you that if you read this book, you will also be able to do it in a less stressful way, and feel better about yourself while doing so. Allen has a way of not only helping you organize your life, but also helping to increase your self-esteem while you are accomplishing necessary life tasks. The skills you learn while reading Allen’s book are things that you can utilize for the rest of your life. Take the opportunity to learn from this great expert!
